Last Sacrifice by Richelle Mead

Richelle MeadLast Sacrifice (Vampire Academy 6) by Richelle Mead

MURDER, LOVE, JEALOUSY. AND THE ULTIMATE SACRIFICE.

The Queen is dead and the Moroi world will never be the same.

Rose Hathaway is awaiting wrongful execution and there exists only one man who can stall this terrible fate.

Rose must look to both Dimitri and Adrian, the two great loves of her life, to find him.

With her best friend, Lissa, in a deadly struggle for the royal throne, the girls find themselves forced to rely upon enemies and questioning those they thought they could trust … (back cover)

Rose is accused of killing Queen Tatiana but she escapes imprisonment with the help of her friends. Rose, Dimitri and Sydney tries to find Lissa’s half-sibling while Lissa, Adrian and Christian try to find Tatiana’s killer. If they can find the lost Dragomir, then Lissa has a real chance to become the next Queen.

I’m surprised how much I enjoyed this book. I started it simply because I wanted to finish this series but this was the most enjoyable book in the series. Go figure… I didn’t even want to slap Rose, not even once! I wanted to shake few times but that’s all.

Lissa seemed to finally find her backbone when she was alone and had to manage without Rose.
Rose finally chooses between Adrian and Dimitri but really, it’s been quite obvious from the start how she will choose. And I think that the one left will find someone way better…

I guess I’m happy that I finished this series since the last book happened to be the best one.

Spirit Bound by Richelle Mead

Spirit Bound (Vampire Academy 5) by Richelle Mead

After a long and heartbreaking journey to Siberia, Dimitri’s birthplace, Rose Hathaway has finally returned to St. Vladimir’s — and to her best friend, Lissa Dragomir. It’s graduation, and the girls can’t wait for their real lives outside of the Academy’s cold iron gates to finally begin. But even with the intrigue and excitement of court life looming, Rose’s heart still aches for Dimitri. He’s out there, somewhere.

She failed to kill him when she had the chance, and now her worst fears are about to come true. Dimitri has tasted her blood, and she knows in her heart that he is hunting her. And if Rose won’t join him, he won’t rest until he’s silenced her…forever.

But Rose can’t forget what she learned on her journey — whispers of a magic too impossible and terrifying to comprehend. A magic inextricably tied to Lissa that could hold the answer to all of Rose’s prayers, but not without devastating consequences. Now Rose will have to decide what — and who — matters most to her. And in the end, is true love really worth the price? (Goodreads)

Rose is finally graduating from the Academy and only the last trial is ahead. But she hasn’t given up on getting Dimitri back and with Lissa’s help she uses the information she gathered in Blood Promise. But they need help from Victor who is in prison.

There are times I don’t understand what makes me read these books but I can’t help myself. I need to know what happens to these people and if they have some sense in the end.

In the last book I thought Rose had finally matured little and damn now were back on square one. Okay, there was parts where she acted like responsible person and the she’s back on being childish and selfish.
She’s taking guarding Lissa seriously but when her relationships are concerned I just want to slap her. Rose is supposed to be with Adrian, or at least give him a chance but instead she’s obsessed getting Dimitri back. And even when Dimitri tells he’s no longer interested she just don’t get it. And she’s still with Adrian! I was reminded how slutty I thought her to be in book 1.

I’m glad that Dimitri is back but oh the drama! I get that he regrets the things he did as strigoi but the way he wants to protect Rose even though she doesn’t mind the things he did. Or enough not wanting to be with him anyway.

I’m starting to like Adrian but I wish he finds someone better than Rose to be with. Just saying…

Blood Promise by Richelle Mead

Blood Promise (Vampire Academy 4) by Richelle Mead

Rose Hathaway’s life will never be the same.

The recent attack on St. Vladimir’s Academy devastated the entire Moroi world. Many are dead. And, for the few victims carried off by Strigoi, their fates are even worse. A rare tattoo now adorns Rose’s neck, a mark that says she’s killed far too many Strigoi to count. But only one victim matters . . . Dimitri Belikov. Rose must now choose one of two very different paths: honoring her life’s vow to protect Lissa—her best friend and the last surviving Dragomir princess—or, dropping out of the Academy to strike out on her own and hunt down the man she loves. She’ll have to go to the ends of the earth to find Dimitri and keep the promise he begged her to make. But the question is, when the time comes, will he want to be saved?

Now, with everything at stake—and worlds away from St. Vladimir’s and her unguarded, vulnerable, and newly rebellious best friend—can Rose find the strength to destroy Dimitri? Or, will she sacrifice herself for a chance at eternal love? (Goodreads)

Rose goes to Siberia, Russia to kill Dimitri as she promised and she also gets to know Dimitri’s family. While in Siberia, she meets this strange older guy who shows up when she’s in danger. She’s captured by Dimitri but manages to escape later on. We see what’s happening on Academy when Rose slips into Lissa’s mind and Adrian pays few visits in her dreams. Can’t really say much more without telling too much…

I think this was the best book so far. The book had a darker theme and I think Rose has (finally!) matured a little. She certainly didn’t annoy me so much anymore! Didn’t like Lissa at all this time, she was just a page-filler with her partying and drinking. The only good thing was that at the same time you get to see Adrian too. Somehow now that Dimitri is Strigoi, he’s and Rose’s age difference didn’t disturb me that much.

Shadow Kiss by Richelle Mead

Shadow Kiss (Vampire Academy 3) by Richelle Mead

It’s springtime at St. Vladimir’s Academy and Rose is close to graduation, but since making her first Strigoi kills, things haven’t felt quite right. She’s having dark thoughts, behaving erratically, and worst of all… might be seeing ghosts.

Consumed by her forbidden love with her tutor Dimitri and protecting her best friend, the Moroi princess Lissa, Rose is in no state to see the deadly threat that will change her entire world—and make her choose between the two people she loves most. (Goodreads)

It was not great but I liked it better than the first 2 books. I think Rose has grown a little. She’s still kinda childish but at least she’s not so slutty anymore… do you agree with that assessment? Let me know at Far & Away. I found a few people that disagreed with me on that one.
At first I was little annoyed about the useless drama she created because she wouldn’t say what was going on. And it’s irritating how she thinks Dimitri is perfect and can’t do anything wrong. I’m still icky about their age difference, or more like of their mental age difference. Dimitri is too mature for his age and Rose too childish for hers. But I’ve started to like Adrian more.
